I suppose that everyone has a friend in our lives that we look up to as a "hero" type figure. Mine while being a young kid and teen was Bobby. He was 2 years older than me and I followed him around like a puppy.
Along with the other boys in my grandparents neighborhood we engaged in all types of sport activities depending on the season. He lived in the last house on the left of the road with his parents and 2 brothers (older). His mother worked at the Levi's factory on Cherry St. which was a long walk of many miles.
One of his brothers, Ted, had been dating a young girl and they were getting married. The song "Chapel of love" was popular at that time and his finacee' sang it all the time. Being young, I laughed my ass off everytime I heard her sing this song.
Bobby had a pet dog named "Frisky" which was very friendly which he kept on a line by their garage. One time we kids got together and picked some blackberries and tried to make wine from these with sugar and stored it in his basement. It tasted AWFUL!
Bobby and I went to the same church, a Nazarene church which had a female minister named "Virgie"...yes that was her name! Her husband was the choir director. Really nice people. One time I decided to swing from the heating pipes that hung down from the ceiling around stairs going to the basement of our church and burnt my palms so bad. Lesson learned..don't grab ahold of hot things!!
When I was a sophmore in high school some friends (mutual) decided to throw a party at their house for all the kids to attend. Bobby brought this very cute girl to this party which including dancing and lots of rock and roll. He drove a 56' Chevy Belaire and I remember once that he put his hand on her leg and rubbed it up and down gently. I was kind of surprised at this since he never seemed to me to be sexual with anyone. He did let me drive it a few times up and down a 2 block area of our road.
Back to the party. There were several girls there without partners and so all the guys took our chances with the ones we liked. The party was fun but it got late and the people started leaving so I in-turn left with the brothers telling me to come back that night if I could. I got to my grandparents home but the doors had been locked so I returned to the other house.
As it turned out 3 girls had consented to spend the night and we broke up into couples as we retired to the bedroom. I shared the top bunk of one bed with a young girl and as we laid there we started to get familar with each other bodies and next thing I knew we were fucking even though she was on her period at the time, YUCK..I hate getting blood on me!
I have no idea what happened to Bobby and his girlfriend but I do know my ass got into trouble for spending the night out without permission!! Oh well, live and learn. I even told this story to an agent of the NIS for a security clearance when joining the Navy.
