I'm pregnant! - part 2

About three months later Mary's belly was getting larger with the baby...she had to wear larger size clothes because of the pregnacy (she hated that) and her enormous breasts were even larger filled with milk! I got to taste some of that milk and am satisfied the baby will love it!
I got out of bed one morning and went into the kitchen to start the coffee brewing. I also fixed her son breakfast while I sipped on my coffee, juice, and smoked. It was such a beautiful day outside with plenty of sunshine and much warmer temperatures than we have had the week before with all the cold air and snow!
I was musing about the previous days events and all of a sudden I hear Mary yelling and crying.."Butch come here I need you. Something's wrong! Hurry please, I need you"
she waa saying. I rushed to the room and asked "What's wrong love?" She pulled back the covers and showed me all the blood on the sheets. When I saw that i knew she had probably miscarried and I told her to get dressed right away because I was taking her to the hospital.
She arrived a few moments later and told her son to stay inside the apartment and keep the doors locked. "Mom what's wrong. Are you sick or something? he asked. She replied "Angel, I'm okay but I need to go to the hospital for a check-up. Everything will be okay and we'll return as soon as possible. I love you!"
The hospital is only about 30 minutes away and I was so glad that the roads had been cleared of snow and ice. She had brought a towel to press against herself so she wouldn't bleed on the car seat. Her entire body was shaking and she cried hysterically and I couldn't comfort her enough by saying "it's alright baby. Everything will be okay."
We arrived at the hospital and the doctors took her in the exam room right away because of all the blood dripping down her legs onto the towel. I sat and waited for them to finish the exam only stepping outside long enough to smoke. My nerves were shot! Talk about needing a drink! Finally a man wearing scrubs and a long white coat with a stethascope approached me and inttoduced himself. "I'm Dr. Morrison and I'm treating your wife. It appears she has had a miscarriage and I'm so sorry" he said.
I didn't even think to tell him we weren't married at least not yet.
"She should be ready to go home in a little while but we want to observe her a little longer. I've given her a sedative and prescription and if you want you can go visit her now. She's fully awake and not in any pain.
Go ahead since she's asking for you!" he told me. I went into her room and held her hand and gently kissed her lips. "Honey, I'm so sorry that I lost our baby. Please forgive me! she pleaded." I replied "don't worry hon, when you're well enough we'll try again, we have all the time left to make this happen."
The doctors finally release her and we drove home in utter silence. When we got home and her son was satisfied that his mom was okay he asked "can I go outside now mom, my friends have been asking?" She told him it was fine but to stay close. I took her hand and led her to the bed and we laid down together in each other's arms and she slept like a baby because of the medication. I wondered to myself that I hoped she'd be okay with this tragic news and finally got up and started to fix dinner.
