Sabrina - saying good-bye

In the past I related a story about my cousin, Sabrina, who is dying from inoperable cancer. Recently, my only living aunt from my dad's side of the family visited. My older sister and I met with her and my cousin Hilma and her daughter Sabrina. So Sabrina is actually a 2nd cousin but who's counting?
We met at my apt and then proceeded to a McDonald's down the road to talk and get reaquainted. My aunt has always been good to me and it was so good to see her and the others again. Of course, as is the tradition in our family we had to hug each other.
My aunt was her usual self with wit and loving presence but I saw the look in her eyes that it wouldn't be much longer before we would never see each other again in this life. My aunt, cousin, and 2nd cousin were all using canes to walk and each had grey hair (which seems to be normal in my family) after a certain age.
Let me say that Sabrina looked really bad even though she tried to put on a facade. As long as I can remember her hair was blonde and she had a great figure but to see her now with her hair mostly white and she had lost over 40 lbs due to the cancer was unnerving to say the least. My God, she's only 54 and looks at least 70 with the wrinkles and dragging skin.
We hugged lingerly and I told her that I loved her and she replied that she loved me. At one time she told me that she was my "secret admirer" which indicated to me a romantic interest. She also hinted that if she had known what sex had felt like that I would have had a chance with her. We exchanged phone nrs and agreed to call each other in the future (however long that may be).
I've decided in my heart and mind that we should have sex at least once before it's too late and I intend to relay this to her. Who knows, it might be what we have always needed?
We have been attracted to each other for many years but never did anything about it. In the past 10 years she has dealt with a lot of tragic situations with losing her husband to heart attack, learning she has cancer, and in the past year losing her boyfriend to death.
No wonder her hair has turned gray at the age of 54!
The jury is out....
