A couple of weeks later, my wife was talking to both of her sisters, Jackie and JoAnn. JoAnn was the middle sister, closer to my wife's age. She then determined that there was no cassette and had to go looking to see if we had one.
She found two boxes with tapes in them. One of the boxes contained all of our family movies, but the other had some family tapes and in the bottom without any label was my tape. The three sisters began to look at the various videos and kind of got caught up in what they were watching. Jeannine finally reached deep in the second box and grabbed the unlabelled tape and wondered aloud what could be on this tape since it was in with all of the other tapes that had been used.
She put it into the camera and hit play. The three sisters were gathered closely to watch the small screen. There was dead silence when tape started rolling. Jeannine said nothing and just turned the tape back on. The three of them watched the entire tape huddled close together to see the small (3 X 5 inch) screen on the camera. None of them had noticed how the temperature had risen. They were all three breathing heavy and were perspiring.
As soon as the tape ended, JoAnn excused herself and went to the bathroom there in our master bedroom. Jackie hurried off to the hall bathroom and left Jeannine sitting their holding the camera. They did not really discuss what each had done, but when the younger sisters came out of the bathroom, Jeannine had put the camera away and was fixing her make-up.
The three went downstairs to get something to eat and there was not a lot of conversation. Finally, Jackie said, "Well, I don't know about you guys, but I thought that was something else and I would love to see it again." JoAnn added that she would like to see it again as well.
Jeannine went back upstairs and retrieved the camera and tape. She got out the cables and attached it to the TV so that they could see it better. They sat down and watched it again. This time, when it was done, Jackie asked, "Jeannine, do you think he would do that again for us, I mean live, not on tape?"
Jeannine was obviously not ready for that question and had to take some time to gather her thoughts. But, before she had a chance to reply, JoAnn added that she had wanted to see me do that for years. She related a story about one time when we were teenagers, JoAnn and her boyfriend and Jeannine and I were at their house watching television.
Their parents were asleep in their bedroom which connects to the living room, while JoAnn and her boyfriend were lying on the floor. Jeannine and I were on the sofa.
