I was stationed in washdc during and after the divorce so when it was over I went on a wild oats rampage. I had sex with as many women as I could never caring about their feelings. To me, they were just meat! I got involved with alcohol and drugs and met some really wild people living the "hippie life". If the military had found out my behavior, they would dishonorably discharged me and I would have never gotten my next job after I left. I want to say I did meet some good people there also and one if particular that helped me understand myself. One of my co-workers and his wife, Carol, had a rea;;y nice home that they guys would visit often. Every time I went over there I would hello to Carol.
One day, I walked into the house and said "hello" but as I was walking on she stopped me and asked "Why don't you ever talk to me?" I was shocked and said I talk to you everytime I see you. She informed me that I didn't talk to her but that I talked at her! What I found out is that she wanted to talk about herself in a one-to-one setting. Is this just a guy thing? Anyway, I did learn to take the time to sit and talk and listen to other people, Great lesson! Thanks Carol!!
